My little Eli is such a chef. He loved being in the kitchen with me. Eli helps me with dinner just about every night, including cutting veggies, etc. When we don't have anything real to make, he often gets a 3 by 5 card and scribbles a 'recipe' and then goes to the kitchen and start pulling out ingredients from the pantry and fridge. He talks to himself as if he is really following the recipe and measuring things out appropriately. Most of the time he creates some type of soup. I let him use most ingredients in moderation. Yesterday he wanted to make a cake for his Daddy. So he gather some leftover candy (Darla-from That Pizza Place on Sunday) and I retrieved a leftover cake that was in the freezer with some leftover frosting from last weeks cakes. He went to town and made this creation. Once he was done he put it on the cake pedestal in the center of our dining table and covered it with a towel so it would be a surprise for Daddy! when you ask Eli what he wants to be when he gets big he says a "chef" and a "firemand." We would be thrilled with either or both for that matter. Maybe he will fall in my steps of baking and Kris says he wishes he has become a fireman! I should mention that Kris didn't eat any as he is on a diet (so those of you who are thinking you caught him-not this time!)

JUst wanted to remind Kris that when he was little about 4 or 5 he wanted to be a sanitation engineer. In those days we had "trashmen" that would ride the side of the cab and hop off to fetch the cans and toss them into the truck. Kris loved every minute of it especially because he knew his Daddy was a truck driver too.
